Triggering themes. Triggering themes and mature topics are a thing on this blog. If you don't like that or you believe that just writing about a thing encourages said thing, then you're probably not going to have a good time here. I'm not going to censor myself or shy away from a topic that's deeply entrenched in a character just because you have a problem with it.

Have your age / age range stated. I'm in my 30s. I have no desire to write with children or teenagers, especially given the topics that I write. If you're under the age of 21 years old, I more than likely will not follow or interact with you.

My banned lists are for my comfort. Every person, character, subject matter, and fandom on my banned list is for my comfort. If you don't agree with me, that is perfectly fine. I'm simply doing what I need to do to feel comfortable.

Strict canon doesn't exist here. I have nothing against people who do adhere strictly to canon. I simply don't because I don't find it fun. All characters will be as close to how they are in canon, personality wise, but I have developed things to make them my own in some way, shape, or form. I'm always down for an AU or to find ways to put them in new and different situations. Some characters I've been writing on and off for years and that development will be clear in my writing and how I approach the characters.

Don't rush me. I take things at my own pace. If you haven't received a reply within two weeks and I haven't spoken to you or stated anything publicly, then you can give me a nudge and ask. But if you want me to prioritize you and your reply / replies, you better be paying me. This is a hobby, not a jobby

Drama begone. Out of character drama is not tolerated here. Start it, openly participate in it, approach me with it, and I'm blocking you. Please keep in mind that evidence of a person causing legitimate harm is not drama.

Anon is for memes and fun things, not hatred or criticism. If you have an issue with something on my blog ( how i portray a character, how I portray a subject, a faceclaim, etc. ) come to me off of anon to discuss it privately. I will not take you seriously if you approach me on anon.

Discord is for chatting and plotting. The only time that I use the site's IM system is if I have no other choice or if I'm exchanging discord names with someone. Outside of that, I use discord only for OOC communication. Please keep in mind that if you don't like OOC communication or using discord, then I will not follow you.

In order to keep things nice and neat and easy to read, I've put my banned lists on separate documents and linked them on my pinned, along with various disclaimers and trigger warnings. To fully understand how I function and why I possibly blocked a previous blog of yours, please read over those lists. I promise, it's not a bunch of ridiculously long lists that cover every tiny thing. It's just a list of the most important things that I feel like should be known.

Rachel Bancroft was born an unwanted child to a pharmacist turned drug dealer father and a woman who wanted a son. Neither of them were thrilled with this tiny life that they'd created, but neither of them wanted to give her up. Rachel's childhood was filled with a loud and bitter anger instead of the warmth and safety that should be given to all children. Due to having PCOS and endometriosis, Elizabeth was unable to have anymore children.Denied the son that she'd always wanted and jealous of how beautiful her daughter was, she became Rachel's first and harshest critic. She'd constantly tear the little girl down, go out of her way to make her feel ugly, and never comforted Rachel when she would cry. When Rachel became older and Richard became more violent, Elizabeth would leave the house for hours at a time and leave her at the mercy of Richard's ever present rage.When Rachel was thirteen, she began watching Richard make the drugs that he sold. She asked him what he was doing and he told her that he was "making medicine" in order "to help sick people." She took that to heart, watching him closely. It became a habit, watching him both make the drugs that he supplies to others and administrating them to himself and Elizabeth.At fifteen, after a particularly violent incident with Richard, Rachel ran away. She was soon picked up by an older woman who was on her way back to her commune. She took pity on poor Rachel and brought her into the fold, saving her from a home life that would have eventually killed her. The commune welcomed Rachel with open arms, giving her food, shelter, and safety. They understood her story as many of them came from similar backgrounds. This was also where Rachel met a fellow runaway named Tracey and the two of them almost instantly became inseparable.Life was good on the commune and Rachel absolutely thrived. However, around the age of sixteen, Rachel and Tracey began to realize that the herbs and other light drugs that the commune did were no longer strong enough. Thanks to Rachel's knowledge from learning from Richard, she was able to create heroin for her and Tracey to indulge in. The head of the commune found out quickly what was going on and exiled Tracey and Rachel without a second thought. She and Tracey roamed a bit in a beat up on car, never staying in one place for too long since they were sixteen years old.Shortly after Rachel's seventeenth birthday, Tracey came to her all excited. She said that she'd found a new place for them in Montana, a place called Project at Eden's Gate. Rachel was a bit more hesitant than Tracey, but agreed to give it a shot. Together, they made their way down to Hope County in the hopes of finding a new home.

They attended a Sunday service, hovering towards the back of the room and feeling out of place. Rachel was immediately swept away by Joseph's sermon and found herself in tears by the end of it. Tracey also seemed fascinated, but not nearly as swept into it as Rachel was. When the sermon was over, Joseph immediately made his way over to them and greeted them as if they were old friends. When they told him of their plight, he immediately welcomed them into the fold of his 'family.'Joseph especially seemed taken with Rachel, which set Tracey's teeth on edge. He made her feel so special, like she was the only person in the world. Faith, Jacob, and John were also kind to them, although Jacob was far more reserved than his siblings. They stayed in a trailer on Joseph's compound and discussed things. Rachel was all for staying, but Tracey was a lot more wary. The two of them had a bit of a fight over it and Rachel fled in tears.Joseph found Rachel sobbing and sat with her. They talked for hours and he provided her with a strong sense of safety and comfort. That was the first time that she tried Bliss as she was running low on her usual supply. While high, he told her that she was beautiful and that she was full of sin, but he could fix that. He promised to rip her sin from her and fill her with virtue, an idea that her Bliss addled mind found irresistible.Tracey leaves Eden's Gate shortly after, realizing how dangerous the group really was. She begged Rachel to come with her, but Rachel was already too far under Joseph's thrall to listen. The two of them had a terrible fight and Rachel accused Tracey of abandoning her and of never loving her. That was the last time that the two of them spoke face to face.Rachel became wrapped up in Eden's Gate and constantly sought to prove herself to Joseph. She thought that was in love with him, even though a part of her knew that he didn't love her in the same way. When the opportunity struck to "prove" herself to him, she did so reflexively. She pushed the other Faith off of a cliff at his subtle encouragement in a moment of desperation, wanting so badly to please him. She cried when she saw Selena's broken body, horrified at what she'd done. However, Joseph soothed her and told her that it was God's will.That was not the first or last time that Rachel would have to prove herself to Joseph. Over and over again, he hollowed her out and forced her to fit a mold of his making. Over and over again, her mind clouded with Bliss, she did his bidding. She did horrendous things, soaking her hands in blood that will never fully wash away. The more that she did, the more that she buried herself in the Bliss. There are long stretches of days, weeks, months that she does not remember.
